About Me

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

First of all, I hate talking about myself. I find it extremely difficult to sum up who I am as a person in writing. I'm sure most people feel the same way.

I am a 21-year-old student at the University of Missouri. I am studying Early Childhood Education because I love kids and frankly, because I am basically a child myself. Sometimes I find myself eating a bowl of macaroni and cheese, sipping on a juice box while wearing my hippo slippers and ask myself, "What is my life?" I love working with children, though, because it gives me an excuse to stay young forever. Plus, kids are hilarious. They constantly make me laugh and keep me from taking myself too seriously.

I love Jesus. I was born and raised in a Christian family, but I really found my faith and made it my own during my sophomore year of college. It was a wonderful growing experience and God is continually working on me. I never live up to what I want to be in Christ, but God always gives me so much grace.

I am the oldest (and shortest) child of three and I have an awesome family back home in the St. Louis area. I miss them every day that I'm away at college, but I am so thankful to have their support and love from back home.

I have a wonderful boyfriend, Joe, and we have been together for six years. (SIX YEARS!) He is truly my best friend. We have been through so much together over the years and even though we tease each other constantly, we're pretty crazy about each other. He is the yin to my yang; while I am a very Type A, high-stress, super-planner, he is an extremely laid back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. He's also a nerd (don't worry, he openly admits it), so he introduces me to things like video games and Lord of the Rings, all of which I end up loving. In the end, we're both extremely goofy, love food, doing things outside and music. We're pretty perfect for each other and I am thankful I am so blessed with such an awesome guy.

Finally, I have a cat. His name is Cosmo and he is basically my child. I'm sure he'll make lots of appearances on this blog. He is named after Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld, which is my favorite TV show of all time.

So that's me! I know this isn't exactly personality-based, but I figure most of that will come out in my writing, anyway. Thanks for reading. :)
